Sales Page - Thinkific Sales Page + Course Portal Build for Confidential Client

A strategic planning coach needed her Thinkific course live and looking like it belonged to her - not to Thinkific's default template. The platform auto-fills every new page with generic placeholder copy and an off-brand URL the second you create it, and underneath that page sat a full course still waiting to be built: modules, quizzes, templates, workbook, all of it.

01

The brief

The course itself was mapped - curriculum planned, content ready to go in. What wasn't ready was the platform. Thinkific's page builder seeds every new sales page with generic placeholder text and an off-brand URL slug the moment you start it, and none of it reads as the client's own site. The brief was to make the sales page look like it belonged on her main site, then build the course underneath it end to end.

02

The build

The sales page was rebuilt from the client's existing checkout copy - header, a CTA button routed straight to checkout, and a full curriculum breakdown by module and lesson - with the default placeholder text and slug replaced by something on-brand and readable. Inside the course: every module and lesson video, action-step text under each lesson, a fillable workbook template and a separate strategic plan template, both set to force-copy into the student's own Google Drive rather than a shared master file, three quizzes with feedback on right and wrong answers, and an NPS-style feedback survey at the end of Module 1. Before handover, we ran a live end-to-end purchase test on the call - applied a coupon, completed checkout, set a password, landed on the thank-you/receipt page, walked the start-learning flow, and confirmed both the receipt email and the enrollment welcome email arrived correctly.

03

Platform limits

Three things about the account shaped what could ship. The checkout page itself can't be restyled - it's a fixed Thinkific template with no client-side customization available. Bundling the course with the client's separate 1:1 advisory offer into a single purchase isn't possible on this plan, since that sits behind Thinkific's Bundles feature - so three workarounds got mapped instead: sell the advisory session as a native Thinkific Event product, hand scheduling and payment to Calendly, or upsell the advisory offer by email after purchase through an external ESP. And the lesson editor has no button element at all - every button inside a lesson has to be built in code/HTML view, then copied lesson to lesson with the text and link edited by hand. I walked the client through that build live so she can repeat it herself.

04

The result

The test purchase worked end to end - coupon, checkout, password, receipt, welcome email, course access, all confirmed live rather than checked in isolation. I walked the client through the Student Progress panel for pulling quiz and survey answers, with export available for later. Two things were left as open flags instead of decided for her: the 1:1 advisory offer still has no price set and shouldn't go to market until it does, and a second, pre-existing course still sitting live on the account needs a decision - keep it or archive it.
